Hello, I’m Spencer.

I’m a commercial photographer based in Northern California. I’ve had a winding path to where I am today, and along that journey I’ve taken many, many photographs. Over time, I’ve developed a philosophy around what makes a photograph a success, and how to capture those images.

For me, a successful photograph is one that communicates a story by evoking a strong emotion.

To make this kind of image you have to be in focused the present moment, you have to be connected to your subject, and you have to be aware of your environment. When you combine all three, you can create photographs that move people.

When I’m not creating photographs and videos, I can be found with my wife, Codi, and our daughters, cooking, camping, brewing coffee or watching Manchester United.
