the twelve hundred mile walk
In 2017, I set off on a backpacking journey without any backpacking experience whatsoever. I walked for 98 days through 15 counties for 1,200 miles—from the top of California to the Mexico border, all along the coastline.
For three months, I stayed as close to the ocean as I could and walked on everything from sand to cement to unpaved trails and through the Lost Coast. This was a journey that had rarely been done before and had never been documented visually.
In 2019, I self-published a book, The Twelve Hundred Mile Walk, a 40,000+ word book sharing my journey along with photographs of my trip. These are some select images from the journey.
